Hi all. Ive recently purchased an Android Auto unit to install on my motorbike. However it constantly freezes, then disconnects, then reconnects itself, making it virtually unusable. Im convinced its an Android/Google bug as it runs perfect when used with an Apple device (tried my mates iPhone on it), and it does seem many others online are experiencing difficulties. My phone im connecting with is a Samsung Z Fold 7. .......anyone come across a solution or fix for this?

Just to add theres no error codes coming up on any device it literally just freezes, screen goes blank, then it reconnects.......by which time as my maps has turned off on my Android Auto device ive then got lost 😅

Hope someone can help 🙏 🙂

Hey, I’ve had the same issue on my Z Fold. Android Auto keeps freezing and reconnecting with no error codes. A few things that seem to help:

Use a high‑quality USB‑C cable — AA is really picky, even if the cable looks fine.

Turn off wireless Android Auto — Samsung phones sometimes glitch when both wired + wireless are enabled.

Disable battery optimisation for Android Auto + Maps. Update Play Services — lots of AA bugs come from there.

Since it works perfectly with an iPhone, it does look like an Android/Samsung compatibility bug rather than the unit itself.

Ive tried changing alot of suggested settings such as battery optimisation, unpairing devices and repairing, uninstalling AA from phone then reinstalling, remove or turning off nearby Bluetooth devices (such as Bluetooth unit on my motorcycle helmet), various developer settings changed again as suggested by users online with the same issue........im at a loss 😕. Its wireless connection if it helps
